mission & values
MAP partners with Veterans and people who have disabilities in support of their self-directed transformation to self-sufficiency.
MAP has identified several important concepts that must control our actions and business plans from this point forward. These ideas are drawn from the prime directive often referred to as The Golden Rule; that we should treat other people like we would like to be treated if we were in their position. As applied to MAP operations, MAP believes:
1) Our primary focus shall be on individuals and their goals, strengths and needs. Our role is to support and guide each individual along their path towards increased independence.
2) Although we want to be of service to individuals, we know that to be successful, we must also be a partner with our community, sharing resources, sharing knowledge of what works, aligning with community goals and objectives and working together.
3) What we do is very personal to the individuals we serve and so our employees and volunteers are our most important asset. We must support them, train them and guide them and then provide them with a work environment and compensation package that makes their effort rewarding and sustainable.
4) We must do all of this within the context of being faithful stewards of the resources we receive from grants, donations, fee for service or other revenue forms.
Our Vision for the Community
To be recognized as a premier organization for providing the housing and support services that Veterans and people with disabilities need in order to achieve their self-directed transformation to self-sufficiency. Also, to be recognized by other organizations as a willing and desirable partner in collaborative efforts intended to improve the quality of service and/or efficiency of the services for the people that MAP and these other organizations collectively serve.
Our Vision for Ourselves
To provide consistently outstanding service to our clients, to continuously identify new ways we can help veterans and people with disabilities to improve their lives and to have the financial security to continue to fulfill our mission, while increasing our presence within the community.
